The morning of 16th May 2014......the day my 2nd brother and l should not forget !
On 15th May ...
After my late mother was sent to the ICU, all family members were not allowed to see her until few hours later...at night around 8 pm my husband and I were asked to go in...to listen to doctor's briefing on her case. I was able to touch her arm and whisper (in my heart) to her...千言万语 ！with mixed feelings ...fear of losing her,sadness..I knew l could not open my mouth to talk...I would rather leave the chance to my brother whom she loved n trusted ...I did call my brother if he wanted to come over but he said the next day then...Well, he went to see her n talked to her then...guess he never expected that was the last she could hear his voice !! He was not even at her side...An hour later,doctor called him to announce her death at 9.20 am. She had passed her last birthday the night in the ICU at the age of 89 !
I don't think I can forget all these episodes...I adore her being a courageous strong minded woman...
Though she had her temper and was harsh on us children sometimes..it was her character..Now we are grown ups and being a mother ,we should understand why she reacted that way in the past...Stress is the cause...
Anyway, it is a year since she departed...She will be fondly and dearly missed by us her children,esp the sons and me ,the closest daughter...Mother, R.I.P
