I only started to learn how to make these dumpling few years ago. Simply because most of my children preferred the fillings that consist of diced pork meat,diced mushrooms,finely chopped "tua tao cai ie salted sliced dried reddish) and other common ingredients. This recipe was passed down from my grandmother to her daughter-in-law ie my late mother.All my mother's grandchildren had eaten these dumplings since younger days. My sister-in-law took over the duty of making the dumplings.She told me her children forever would miss the home-made dumplings.I do not really like eating rice dumplings.That was why I did not bother to learn making them until one day my son said the same thing as his cousins did.They preferred grandma's recipe. I quickly learnt the skill from my sister-in-law and I did the wrapping successfully for the first dumpling ! Now l love the process of wrapping ! Below are photos of rice dumplings that I've made.
